The Direct Selling Association of Australia Inc (DSAA) is the trade association for Australia's direct selling industry.
Direct selling takes place when an independent sales person sells goods and services directly to consumers in their homes, work places and other meeting places instead of in a fixed retail store. It can be a very rewarding experience for both the buyer and the seller. In Australia today there are many organisations offering excellent products and services along with a fun, flexible way to earn extra income. It is a vibrant, growing industry and currently sales people are making around 2 million sales visits each month to shoppers.
Our Members, which currently include more than 70 of Australia's leading direct selling organisations, are committed to the highest professional standards and must adhere to a strict Code of Practice. We are the voice of the industry and we work with our Members to build awareness, understanding and credibility amongst consumers, consumer groups, government and the media. Accordingly our Members contribute to and benefit from our work, enhancing their own businesses and the industry as a whole. View a list of our Members.
We believe our mission is to
- Protect, serve and promote the interests of the Members and the independent business people they represent
- Protect and promote the direct selling industry, its aims and opportunities within the Australian community
- Ensure that the marketing of products and/or the direct sales opportunity by Members is conducted with the highest level of business ethics and service to consumer
In fulfilling our mission, our main objectives are to ensure that direct selling is well regarded by the community, through identifying and promoting ethical methods of direct selling, while maintaining and promoting our Code of Practice and ensuring our Members comply with it. We also strongly encourage and maintain an environment where Members can operate freely and independently. Where necessary we will present the views of Members to Federal, State and Municipal bodies and to the general public.
