About Us

How We Operate

DSAA is incorporated under the Association’s Incorporation Act 1984 (NSW). Nine directors are responsible for the Association’s governance. They are elected annually by members. There are no limits on director tenure, but a person cannot be chairperson for more than three consecutive terms.

The Board of Directors appoints an Executive Director with responsibility for managing the Association’s business. This person also acts as the Association’s proper officer and is an ex-officio Board member without voting rights.

A number of Committees are established to assist with policy development and the design and delivery of services, and the Association has access to in house and outsourced professional and administrative services.
