Direct selling is global business. Members of almost sixty Direct Selling Associations conduct business in more than 140 countries. Statistics provided by participating DSAs show that in 2005 almost fifty million independently operating sales people generated more than AUD $140 billion in retail sales. In Australia, 620,000 people were involved in sales of $1.3 billion.

DSAA is a foundation member of the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations. WFDSA was established in 1978 to build understanding and support for direct selling throughout the world.
