Membership Categories
DSAA has these categories of membership:
Full Member
Full Membership is available to organisations who have been engaged in direct selling within Australia for twelve months, although the Board is able to waive this requirement for individual circumstances. Direct selling is selling goods or services directly to consumers by or through independent sales people away from fixed retail premises and typically within homes and workplaces.
The principal condition for membership is that Members strictly comply with the DSAA’s Code of Practice. This prescribes behavioural standards expected between Members, their salespeople, and consumers.

Provisional Member
Provisional Membership is a transition to full membership. This is available to an applicant for full membership pending a twelve month, or less at the Board’s discretion, evaluation of an applicant’s suitability for full membership. This allows DSAA time to be confident that policies and operations comply with laws relating to direct selling and DSAA’s own professional standards. With the exception of voting rights, provisional members have all the entitlements of a full member.
Life Member
Life Membership is conferred on individuals the Association resolves to induct into its Hall of Fame. The award recognises exceptional service to DSAA and the direct selling industry. Holders do not have voting rights but are eligible to participate in other Association activities and may also be an office holder.
Supplier Member
The direct selling industry relies extensively on external suppliers for many support services. DSAA offers Supplier Membership to organisations and individuals who provide these services.
Supplier Membership allows suppliers to become part of the direct selling community. The exposure it brings to industry leaders and issues lets suppliers bring understanding of the industry’s management and operational structure to the supply of services. Supplier Membership and the responsibility it brings is a ready assurance to Members of a commitment to the industry.
Suppliers must be nominated for membership by a Full Member having at least a twelve month business relationship with the supplier. A supplier must also have been in business for at least two years and be willing to comply with any relevant DSAA professional standards.
